Dhanbad, Nov 1: The IIT-Indian School of Mines (ISM) is geared up to host the four-day Mega Geo Mining Fest of India, Khanan-22 from November 3-6.
Prof Rajni Singh, chairman media and branding wing of IIT ISM said that the Geo Mining Fest of India, Khanan-22 is being organised in collaboration with technology innovation hub-TEXMiN, Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME-USA India Chapter) and CIL Innovation and Incubation Centre.
Over 100 industry representatives and over 500 technocrats and mining experts will attend a host of technical events, panel discussions, and lectures by eminent personalities of the industry in the four-day fest.
On the occasion, a CIL Innovation and Incubation Centre will also be inaugurated on the first day of the fest on November 3. CIL chairman Pramod Agarwal will inaugurate the ambitious centre.
Prof Singh further said the aim and objective of the CIL Innovation and Incubation Centre are for nurturing innovators to form the idea in the domain of technology innovation. A Tech Expo will be inaugurated immediately after the inauguration of the CIL Innovation and Incubation Centre in which technology and products developed by TEXMIN would be put on a demonstration.
The achievements of IIT (ISM) in terms of innovative technological development in Mining and Earth Sciences Department ever since the establishment of TEXMIN in October 2020 would be displayed during the fest.
Prof Singh said that during the fest activities of various CoEs of IIT-ISM for nurturing ground in terms of research, innovation, development, commercialization of various technologies and spreading awareness about safe, smart and sustainable mining would be showcased.
“During four days Khanan-22 fest industry representatives and experts would also discuss technologies like IOT sensors, Real-Time Tracking Solutions, UAV and Drone Technologies developed by TEXMiN for monitoring mining activities,’ he added.
