Dhanbad, Dec 31: “The New Year is here again. Naturally, people will have the urge to make some New Year’s resolutions like in previous years. Though in most cases, those resolutions remain just the resolutions,” said Prof Pramod Pathak, famous author of Jharkhand.
Prof Pathak has retired from a prominent technical institution in the country recently. During his time as a professor, he has guided many notable IAS officers of India in completing their Ph.D.
He said that it is high time for people to be pragmatic.
“The fact is that we don’t need resolutions. It is better to be a realist than an optimist. Mellowed by the Corona pandemic, I have realised that resolutions don’t make sense after all. Whatever is meant to happen, will happen in any case,” said Prof Pathak.
He further added that resolution or no resolution; this is what Tulsidas has said in Ram Charit Manas. Just two pearls of wisdom to follow, then the New Year is called Murphy’s Law in Management.
“If a thing is to go wrong, it will go wrong. And the second and even more practical thing is that if you believe everything you read and hear in all kinds of print and colour, it is better to close your eyes and ears. So, this time I have taken a resolution to go for solutions only,” said Prof Pathak.
