Dhanbad, Dec 9: A five-member team of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Ranchi under Kajal Yadav began a probe of the death of a domestic help Annu kumari (16) who was found hanging in the residence of a medical officer on December 5.
While the post-mortem report from Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) said death due to hanging, family members of Annu, the residents of Jharia allege that she was murdered.
Annu was a domestic helper of a medical officer. She was found hanging in his house on the morning of December 5 at Dhaiya under Dhanbad Sadar police station. The medical officer is also posted at the government health centre in Jharia.
The family members of Annu have filed FIR against the medical officer for hiding the fact of her death.
Today, the team of NCPCR from Ranchi visited the residence of Annu in Jharia and got first-hand information from Neela Devi, the mother of the deceased girl. The team also sought facts about their allegation from Neela Devi and discussed the points with investigating officers.
Besides Kajal Yadav, Ruchir Kujur, Dr Abha, Sunil Verma and Anup Lakra were other members of the Ranchi NCPCR team.
The team told media persons that they had come to probe what is the fact of death. Whether the investigation is going on in the proper way or not. What is the fact in the allegation of family members?
“If needed, NCPCR would set up a separate committee for probe,” said a member.
