Dhanbad, Oct 4: Dhanbad police claim to have resolved Juhi Kia Motors Showroom Barbadda bombing within a week by apprehending the main accused from Bokaro and Dhanbad. A senior police officer involved in the investigation said that both the criminals, Arun Kumar of Bokaro and Kundan Kumar of Loyabad ( Dhanbad) have been arrested. Kundan was driving the bike and Arun had hurled a bomb in the showroom. Police have also recovered the bike they used in the incident.
On September 27, two criminals on a bike lobbed a hand grenade in the premises of Juhi Kia Motors Showroom located at the interstate GT Road ( NH-2) under Barbadda police station area in broad daylight. A Seltos car was damaged in the incident.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjiv Kumar, who reached the spot immediately, had set up a team for investigation. Police had filed an FIR against dreaded extortionist Aman Singh, presently lodged in Hotwar Jail Ranchi, and 12 other unknown criminals.
“More criminals were involved in this bombing. Besides Arun and Kundan, two other criminals were also behind them on a bike. Police are searching for them. Investigating teams have picked up eight suspects in this regard from Bokaro, Jharia and other places of the district for interrogation. Raids are also being conducted at different places in search of criminals,” stated a senior police official on condition of not to be named, as the SSP himself would brief the media about it.
Industrialist Dipak Sawaria, the owner of Juhi Kia Motors Showroom had recently received a threatening message in the name of Aman Singh for extortion. When he did not take cognizance of the message, criminals hurled a bomb on his showroom. He had lodged an FIR against 12 unknown people in this regard at Barbadda police station. He has been provided security by the police after these threats and bombing.
