Dhanbad, Jan 24: Police claimed to have solved Katras’s coal trader Manoj Yadav’s murder mystery in 48 hours by arresting five persons including a woman involved in the incident.

Coal trader Manoj Yadav, a resident of the Katras area of the district was shot dead by unidentified bike-borne criminals on Katras-Nawagarh road near Kailudih under Katras police station on Sunday (January 22) afternoon. The incident created panic in the region.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Sanjiv Kumar today in the afternoon told media persons that five persons including a woman involved in the crime have been arrested.

Moreover, the police seized a bike, a pistol used in the murder, two live and two empty cartridges, Rs two lakh cash and nine mobile phones.

The arrested persons were identified as Vikas Bajrangi, Anu Yadav, Prakash Yadav, Sarukh Siddiqui and Jaha Arah.

“Murder was committed for old enmity and supremacy in crime in the area. Vikash Bajrangi was the mastermind of the murder who eliminated  Manoj Yadav to regain his control in the area after coming out from jail,” said SSP.

Sanjiv Kumar said Prem Prakash Yadav and Anu Yadav shot Manoj Yadav on a deal of Rs two lakh. The police recovered Rs one lakh from them. Jaha Arah and her son Sarukh Siddiqui were also used in the crime. Jaha Arah had acquaintances with Manoj Yadav and she called him at Kailudih where shooters shot him.

A special team under the city superintendent of police and Katras police inspector was formed to investigate the murder and they finally solved the mystery in 48 hours by arresting the persons involved in the murder,” said SSP Sanjiv Kumar.
