Dhanbad, May 30: Police have arrested Samajwadi Party (SP) Dhanbad district president Mansaf Alam and two others in a kidnapping case of a nine-year-old boy for ransom under Putki police station of the district.
Unfolding the six-day-old kidnapping incident, Superintendent of Police (rural) Rishma Rameshan told media persons that the boy Aamir Ansari of Machhali Patti Staff Colony under Putki police station, who was abducted on May 24, has been recovered and three persons have been arrested in the connection.
The boy was abducted in a drainage dispute of a lane between two neighbour families. The accused kidnapped the boy to teach a lesson to her neighbour and demanded Rs 80,000 as ransom from the victim’s family. Besides SP district president Mansaf Alam, police have arrested the accused Husna Bano and her son Danish Raja. Another accused Chanda Devi is absconding. According to the police, the SP district president had kept the boy in his car and was in constant touch with the victim’s family.
“Police have seized the Swift Dzire car of Mansaf Alam used in abduction and three mobile phones of the accused,” said rural SP Rishma Rameshan.
The accused had mixed sedatives in the cold drink and got the boy to drink for kidnapping.
A police officer said the accused family Husna Bano had a long dispute with the neighbour victim’s family Musraf Parveen over drainage and passage of lane. Husna Bano along with her son Danish Raja hatched the conspiracy to teach a lesson to Musraf Parveen and kidnapped her son Aamir on May 24.
Musraf Parveen lodged FIR in Putki police station on May 25 and suspected Husna Bano and her son.
Finally, on Sunday (May 29), the accused succumbed under police pressure in interrogation and surrendered in the evening with the abducted boy. The boy did not recall where he was kept in the last five days and said he found himself moving in a car whenever he came back to his senses.
