Dhanbad, March 1: Dhanbad police have arrested three cyber criminals involved in 30 cheating cases in different districts of Jharkhand and West Bengal from a rented house in the Kolakusma area under the Saraidhela police station.
The Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) headquarter-1 Amar Kumar Pandey informed media persons that the arrested criminals identified as the Tundi block’s Anil Kumar Mahto, Suraj Kumar Mandal and Dipak Kumar Mandal. They were living in a rented flat as students.
After getting the tip, a police team raided their flat in the morning and seized two costly laptops, two iPhones, 11 mobile phones large numbers of Sim cards and ATM cards from different banks.
The cybercriminals were leading lavish life in the flat using the money.
“After checking National Cyber Crime Regulatory Portal, it was found that they had committed more than 30 cheating and used all sims in committing cyber crimes. They had formatted all mobile phones except two smartphones,” said DSP Amar Kumar Pandey.
The deputy superintendent of police said that the search for other members of the gang is on. They had cheated people in different districts of Jharkhand and West Bengal by sending links, electric bills, online shopping and ATM card CVV number.
