Dhanbad railway division employees hold massive demonstration for old pension

Dhanbad, Aug 21: Employees of the Dhanbad Rail Division today held a massive demonstration for the abrogation of the New Pension Scheme (NPS) and implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS).

The divisional employees during the lunch hour assembled at the Coaching Complex of the Garage and Wagon department and held gate meetings as well as demonstrations demanding immediate implementation of the OPS from the central government.

East Central  Railway Karmchari Union ( ECRKU) Dhanbad divisional railway leader NK  Khawas said that on the directive of ECRKU central committee president  DK Pandey and general secretary SNP Srivastava, a demonstration was held at all branches of the division today.

“We held a gate meeting during lunch hour and employees were made aware of differences between New Pension Scheme and Old Pension Scheme. Why Old Pension Scheme is necessary for employees and what would be its advantage? We today demanded implementation from the central government and would continue the agitation till it is implemented,” said  NK Khawas.

He said that the demonstration was organized in all divisions across the country on the directive of  All India Railway Employees Federation (AIRF) general secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra.

The divisional railway employees leaders who led the demonstration and shed light on the old pension scheme were Netaji Subhash, Prasant Banerjee, Dhirendra, CS Prasad, Surendra, Viman, Amarjeet, Manjeet, Ajay, Dilip, R Gope, Manoj Kumar, Abhay Kumar, Santosh,  Izhar,  Bindoo, Bibha, Jarmina and Uma.
