Dhanbad: Three killed, seven injured in road accident on NH-2

Dhanbad, March 22: Three people including one woman were killed and seven seriously injured in an auto and 407 mini-truck collisions on National Highway-2 near Lohar Barwa under Barwadda police station of the district on Wednesday afternoon.

The police with help of local people got injured persons admitted at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad. Doctors in the emergency said the condition of the injured persons were critical. Among the injured two are children.

Three persons including a woman were declared brought dead by doctors at the hospital. The deceased were identified as Yusuf Kureshi, Md Wahab and Sajidi.

The officer in charge of Barwadda police station Bikram Kumar Singh said that the incident occurred around 3 pm. The victim’s family members were returning to Ena Islampur of Jharia after attending Topchachi Ledatand Majar Mela. when their auto collided head-on with a mini truck coming from the wrong track of National Highway -2.

After the incident local people informed police and rescued the trapped passengers from the auto. On two ambulances, all 10 persons of the family were sent to the medical college hospital.
