Dhanbad, June 21: The unsuccessful examinees of RSP College, Jharia and Sindri College, Sindri on Wednesday locked the main gate of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) demanding re-evaluation of PG third semester and UG- first-semester answer books in which more than 72% students have been declared failed.
Over hundreds of boys and girls examinees of both the constituent colleges reached Bhelatand based BBMKU campus. First, a delegation of the agitating examinees tried to meet the vice-chancellor, examination controller and other authorities of the university. But when security guards denied entry into the campus they locked the main gate from outside and began the demonstration.
National Students Union of India (NSUI) district president Gopal Krishna told media persons that 72% examinees of UG semester-1 and PG semester-3 have been declared unsuccessful. Over 300 students had appeared in PG semester-3 in which 190 of them have been declared failed.
Since the answer books have been examined by BeD teachers, students are demanding re-evaluation of some answer books but the V-C denied to meet them. “If students can’t enter on the campus to meet their vice-chancellor they would also not allow other persons to go in and come out. That is why the students locked the gate of the university,” said the NSUI district president.
Agitating examinees alleged that the university implemented the course of New Education Policy (NEP) but has not enrolled teachers in most of the subjects resulting in a lack of classes due to which result of students have been affected.
The NSUI leader charged that V-C Sukhdeo Bhoi is engaged in working on anti-poor student activities by closing intermediate and postgraduate (PG courses) in colleges.
Agitating boys and girls students of RSP College, Jharia and Sindri College, Sindri warned that they would continue the agitation till selected answer books are re-evaluated.
