Dhanbad: Yoga Day celebrated at IIT ISM, BIT Sindri, SNMMCH

Dhanbad, June 21: International Yoga Day was organized at premier institutions, especially IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM), BIT Sindri and Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad in which authorities and students participated and performed in a big way.

At IIT ISM, a programme was organized at the lower ground of the institution which started at 6.15 am and continued till 7.15 am. Braving heavy downpours ( first rail fall of monsoon) director Prof Rajiv Shekhar, deputy director Prof Dheeraj Kumar, dean of students welfare (DSW) Prof  MK Singh and other senior faculty members joined the programme and performed all items of Yoga scheduled in the fixture.

Students, staff of the institution and the general public also joined in the IIT ISM programme for which authorities had opened for all.

At BIT Sindri, a yoga programme was organized at Lecturer Hall Complex from 7 am to 8 am. Director Dr DK Singh, Prof Ghanshyam, Prof RK Verma, Prof Arvind Kumar, Prof Anil Kumar Rajak, Prof JN Mahto, Dr Pankaj Ray, Prof Naresh Prasad Choudhary, Prof BD Yadav, Prof Chaitanya Sharma, Prof M K Bhagat,  Prof Dhaneswar Mahto, Prof Ravi Shankar, Prof Rajiv Ranjan, Prof Sitaram and others participated.

Yoga programme at BIT Sindri

Director DK Singh while inaugurating the programme said, in the present contest of lifestyle, the adoption of Yoga has become essential. Coordinator of the programme Dr RajivKumar Verma said that Yoga is not only an exercise but it is also an energy-generating process.

At Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical Colleges Hospital Saraidhela International Yoga Day was celebrated in which principal Dr Jyoti Ranjan Prasad, faculty members, doctors and students participated on a large scale. On the occasion, the 10-day  Yoga course of the National Medical Commission (NMC) for first-year MBBS professionals and Interns which started on June 12  also concluded today in the function.

Principal Dr Prasad performed Yoga along with faculty members and shed light on the importance of celebrating International Yoga Day and its importance in maintaining a healthy life. Dr Ganesh Kumar, Dr Leena Singh, Dr Phani Bhushan, Dr Veenit Tigga Dr Rishav Rana, Dr Smridhi Kumari, Dr Kumar Yogesh, Dr Neha and Dr Nitu  Kumari participated in the event.
