Dhanbad, July  20: Dipak Kumar Dipu and Sanjay Prasad were unanimously elected president and secretary, respectively, of the Sindri Chamber of Commerce Association today.

At a meeting held under the supervision of the Dhanbad District Federation of  Chamber of Commerce, Dilip Retolia was re-elected treasurer. Around 600 members of the Sindri Chamber of Commerce participated in the meeting.

Earlier in the day, two groups of traders clashed at the meeting over supremacy in the organization. However, the  Sindri police and district officials of the Federation intervened and conducted the election peacefully.

Federation president Chetan Goenka,  district general secretary Ajay Narayan Lal, vice-president cum Krishi Bazar Samiti president Binod  Gupta, general secretary Vikash Kandhbey and organizing secretary Sunil Pandey controlled the situation.

The election of the Sindri Chamber of Commerce keeps significance as over 1000 registered traders are facing eviction notices under PP Act from FCIL Sindri management.

Rattled by the factional feud in the chamber, Dipak Kumar Dipu, who is one of the founder members of the association had previously resigned from the post.

The District  Federation of Chamber of Commerce had called a meeting of the Sindri unit today and conducted the election of a new body after dissolving the previous body.
