On Wednesday night, the NA Secretariat released the order of the day for today, with a discussion of the no-trust motion against the prime on the agenda.
On Monday, leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif had tabled the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan making him the third premier in Pakistan’s history to face the move.
Deputy NA Speaker Qasim Suri requested members of Parliament who supported the proposal to stand up so that their votes could be counted throughout the session. According to the Constitution, voting requires the approval of 20% of the MNAs in the Assembly.
The deputy speaker approved a discussion on the no-confidence motion after counting the members who rose up in favour of it, adding that it will take place on Thursday, March 31, at 4 p.m. However, the resolution is scheduled to be voted on between April 1 and 4.
