Ranchi, Oct.13: A dispute over charging of mobile phones between two sisters-in-law (Nanad-Bhabhi) claimed one life.  The incident took place at Balbera, about 60km from the Jharkhand capital under Tamar police station area on October 10 afternoon. Police revealed the reason today after a proper investigation of the case.

“Around 3pm on October 10 Geeta Sardar (35) asked her husband’s sister to give the mobile phone to talk to her former husband. The latter denied saying balance is limited. On which a dispute arose. As Sardar’s father-in-law heard Sardar shouting in fit of rage hit on her head with a rod. As Sardar fell down, he along with her daughter escaped from the house anticipating trouble. An FIR was registered in this connection on the information of villagers. When the matter was probed, the reason behind the murder came as a dispute over use of phone,” S.P.(rural) Naushad Alam said.

Asked regarding action in the matter, S.P(rural) Alam said: “Deceased’s father in law Marki Munda (60), sister-in-law Sabi Devi (55) and sister-in-law Sukru Kumari (21) have been arrested in this connection.”

Asked about the husband, S.P.(rural) Alam said: “Husband of the deceased had solemnized another marriage and stayed somewhere else. He solemnized marriage after having no issue for four years after his marriage. His marriage had been solemnized 14 years ago.”

Asked how come such a simple matter can claim a life, S.P.(rural) Alam said: “There might be some other reasons also but it disputes the immediate cause. We are trying to find out other reasons also.”
