Ranchi, Nov.9: The district administration today conducted a raid at Birsa Munda Central Jail after getting information of misuse of mobile phones and special facilities to a section of the ED accused lodged there.

The raid started at 5am and continued till 7.30am. However, there was nothing objectionable found in the jail except tobacco and tobacco products.

Jail superintendent Hamid Akhtar confirmed the development saying ‘Bidi Gutkha ke alawa kuch nahi mila.’

Independent legislator Saryu Roy through a tweet had informed that ED accused Amit Agrawal has been given on barrack 11B, while other ED accused Prem Prakash alongwith Sonu Tiwari, Patel and Bhikhan Ganjhu have been kept in barrack 11A. All of them have been provided prisoners as servants.

When asked Akhtar about the same he rubbished the information saying all the ED accused have been kept in general ward where there is no provision of sevadar. In the upper division cell, where there is provision of sevadar, there are only two accused and they are Raja Peter and Anosh Ekka.
