Drug addict kills brother over money feud in Deoghar

Deoghar, Oct.27: In a harrowing incident, Dinesh Paswan (26) of Bhikhna village under Kunda police station of Deoghar district was stabbed to death on Wednesday morning by his younger brother as the latter was denied money so demanded by him.

 

Their parents Maheshwar Paswan and his wife Nilam Devi also received multiple injuries while attempting to rescue their elder son at the time of attack by the younger one namely Jyotish Paswan (22),

 

The parents were rushed to the Deoghar Sadar Hospital by neighbours where they are undergoing treatment and are reported to be out of danger.

 

“The accused younger brother has been arrested from his home along with the knife used by him to stab his elder brother,” said the officer-in-charge of Kunda police station, Pravin Kumar.

 

The OC further said that the accused was addicted to drugs and often resorted to violence against his elder brother and parents for money who had also sold out ancestral lands to meet the expenses of his addictions.

 

“On Wednesday morning at around 9 a.m., Jyotish turned furious over denial of money amounting to Rs 50,000 by his elder brother and started stabbing him indiscriminately resulting to his death on the spot,” Maheshwar Paswan, the father of both the deceased and accused sons rued talking to the reporters at Sadar Hospital in Deoghar.

 

The incident meanwhile has sparked a sensation in the entire locality as police have sent the body of the deceased for postmortem.
