Jamshedpur, March 22: Most parts of Jharkhand woke up to bright sunshine as the weather condition improved with IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre forecasting dry weather today.

Weathermen said a partly cloudy sky towards afternoon or evening is expected at isolated places and that dry weather would prevail today. Met department officials ruled out the possibility of thunder showers today.

The forecast for the next two days – Thursday and Friday – suggests mainly clear sky and dry weather.

Satellite imagery indicated that the Western Disturbance as a trough in the middle and upper tropospheric levels was lying with its axis at 5.8 Km above the mean sea level.

The trough from Northeast Rajasthan to Nagaland was today running from Haryana to Bangladesh across south Uttar Pradesh, south Bihar and West Bengal at 0.9 Km above the mean sea level.

Met statistics suggested that light to moderate rain with thunderstorm occurred at isolated places over the state during the past 24-hours.

The highest rainfall recorded was 39 mm at Sahibganj. The highest maximum temperature of 30°C was recorded at Chaibasa while the lowest minimum temperature of 15.2°C was recorded at Ranchi.
