Jamshedpur, March 29: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of dry weather in Jharkhand on Wednesday. Weathermen said a partly cloudy sky is expected in the afternoon and evening today but they ruled out thunderstorm and rain.
The Western Disturbance as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies was hovering with its axis at 5.8 Km above mean sea level. The other trough from Bihar to north Odisha was today running from east Bihar to south Chhattisgarh across Jharkhand at 0.9 Km above mean sea level.
Light rain with thunderstorm occurred at isolated places over the state during the last 24 hours. The highest rainfall recorded was 10.0 mm at Manjhari (West Singbhum). The highest maximum temperature of 36.0°C was recorded at Jamshedpur while the lowest minimum temperature of 17.0°C was recorded at Simdega.
The forecast for Thursday and Friday included thunderstorm/ lightning accompanied by strong surface wind gusting upto 30-40 Kmph at isolated places over the state.
Ranchi Meteorological Centre also issued an alert of hailstorm in isolated places especially in southern and central parts of the state on Friday.
