DSPMU felicitates 36th Inter University Youth Festival winners

Ranchi, Jan 11: The Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University on Wednesday felicitated the 49-member team that bagged laurels and won competitions in the 36th Inter University East Zone Youth Festival held at KIITS, Bhubaneswar.

Notably, a 49-member team from DSPMU earned several overall and individual prizes in the the Youth Fest at KIITS. The participants had secured the third position in the collage competition. Apart from this, many participants excelled in solo performances.

In the music competition, the team of DSPMU got the first position in the entire competition. In this discipline, Yuvraj Mishra bagged the first position in the Light Vocal Solo Competition. Similarly, DSPMU students bagged first place in installation, tribal orchestra and on spot painting competition.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Tapan Kumar Shandilya and Registrar Dr Namita Singh talked to the students of their experiences in the entire competition. They further extended congratulations and best wishes to the participants and said that the entire university family is feeling proud of their positive efforts and determination.

The VC further said that it was a proud moment for the entire university as the participants did not only excel in academics but also in other cultural activities. He said that many cultural activities are to be organised in the university in the New Year as well where the students will again get an opportunity to display their style.

On the occasion, Registrar Singh said, “If we look at the past performances, it is clear that the university is on the path of continuous progress and this is a very auspicious sign.” Notably, the team comprising 49 members was led by Dr Geetanjali Singh and Dr Rahul Dev Sao.
