E Singhbhum on high alert for Independence Day

Jamshedpur, Aug 14 : The East Singhbhum district has been put on high alert  in view of the 75th Independence Day.

Patrolling on National Highway-33 and state highways has been intensified from today.

Police continued surprise checks in hotels, guest-houses, and restaurants.

The officers-in-charge of various police stations in the district have been asked to make deployment of armed police at strategic and sensitive locations across the district, especially in the steel city.

Patrolling was also intensified in places close to steel city like Ghatsila,  Patamda and Dalma area from where recently 10 landmines planted by CPI- Maoist were recovered.

The railway police were also put on alert. Deployment of RPF and GRP have been made to guard vital installations and also for the security of passengers in moving trains.

The main flag hoisting function will take place at the Gopal Maidan in Bistupur where health minister Banna Gupta will unfurl the national tri-colour.

The function will be held following necessary Covid protocols. It will be beamed live through PRD East Singhbhum’s Facebook page.

Tata Steel managing director TV Narendran would also unfurl the national flag at the company’s works main gate. The event will be beamed online.
