New Delhi, April 11: India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will meet with Katherine Tai, the United States Trade Representative on Tuesday.
“Ambassador Tai will meet with India’s Minister of External Affairs Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. This meeting is closed press,” US Trade Representative said in a statement.
Ambassador Tai will also meet with Dr Jorg Kukies, Germany’s State Secretary for International and EU Affairs and G7/G20 Sherpa, according to the release. According to the US Trade Representative, she will meet with Margarete Schrambock, Austria’s Minister for Digital and Economic Affairs, and Martin Kocher, Austria’s Minister for Labor.
On Sunday, India and the United States will hold a two-way conversation involving Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar, and their American counterparts.
USTR Katherine Tai paid her maiden visit to India in November last year, two months after taking office in March, to meet with officials and discuss ways to strengthen trade and economic ties between the two nations. Sarah Bianchi, the Deputy US Trade Representative, accompanied her.
The US indicated interest in exporting ethanol to India for fuel reasons during the TPF’s twelfth ministerial-level conference in New Delhi. The TPF meeting was co-chaired by Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer.
