New Delhi, May 28: Strong tremors of the earthquake have been felt in 8 countries including India’s Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan’s Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore and China.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicentre of the earthquake was at a depth of 220 feet along the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border. The intensity of the earthquake was measured at 6.3 on the Richter scale.
Tremors have been felt in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar and Poonch, Punjab and Haryana. On the Richter scale, the intensity of the earthquake that occurred in Indian states was measured at 5.6.
The earth of the countries around India, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan also shook.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, a magnitude 5.9 earthquake occurred 70 km southeast of Faizabad, Afghanistan at around 10.19 am. At the same time, tremors of magnitude 3.6 were also felt 24 km south of Kahramanmaras in Turkey. At the same time, the earth shook in Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and other cities of Pakistan.
