Earthquake of magnitude 4.7 hits Afghanistan’s Fayzabad

New Delhi, March 9: An earthquake of magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter Scale hit 285km ENE of Fayzabad, Afghanistan on Thursday at 07:06 am IST.

As per information, the earthquake is the third in just seven days. However, no casualty or damage to property has been reported so far.

Taking to Twitter, National Center for Seismology (NCS) said, “Earthquake of Magnitude:4.7, Occurred on 09-03-2023, 07:06:38 IST, Lat: 38.22 & Long: 73.47, Depth: 107 Km, Location: 285km ENE of Fayzabad, Afghanistan.”

Earlier on Tuesday, an earthquake of magnitude 4.1 occurred in Afghanistan. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), “Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.1, Occurred on 28-02-2023, 04:05:22 IST, Lat: 36.38 & Long: 70.94, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Afghanistan.”

On March 2, an earthquake of magnitude 4.1 struck the Fayzabad region of Afghanistan at 2:35 am IST. According to NCS, the quake struck at a depth of 245 kilometres at a latitude of 37.73 and a longitude of 73.47. The earthquake struck at a depth of 10 kilometres, at a latitude of 36.38 and a longitude of 70.94.
