New Delhi, Oct 14: The Election Commission of India will hold a press conference on Friday in Delhi and is likely to announce the schedule of Assembly elections for Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. At 3 pm, a press conference will take conducted in New Delhi’s Plenary Hall of the Vigyan Bhawan.
Gujarat’s Assembly term expires on February 18 of the following year, whereas Himachal Pradesh’s does on January 8 of 2023. The poll body recently travelled to the two states to assess election readiness.
Rajiv Kumar, the chief election commissioner, and Anup Chandra Pandey, the election commissioner, travelled to both states to assess the election’s preparations and make sure all necessary safeguards are in place.
