Ranchi, Aug.31: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has taken possession of a property worth Rs. 33,74,390 of Late Jeetendra Mohan S/o Kamani Mohan, situated at Shree Narayana Enclave, Phase-II, Dumardaga, Ranchi in the case of Chit Fund scam(DJN group of Companies) of Jharkhand.
In this case, ED had earlier attached properties worth Rs. 1.66 crore by issuing Provisional Attachment Orders under Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA), which was duly confirmed by the Adjudicating Authority vide dated 29.7.2021 under PMLA.
The ED initiated investigations under PMLA on the basis of FIR No 220/2016 & chargesheet No 228/16 filed by Lalpur P.S., Dist. Ranchi under Sections 120-B read with sections 420, 467, 468, 471 & 406 of IPC, 1860 against Jeetendra Mohan Sinha, Vishal Kumar Sinha, Prasant Kumar Sinha and Evatoli Santosh.
Investigations conducted by ED have revealed that the DJN Commodities was registered with MCX, Mumbai under the proprietorship of Vishal Kumar Sinha. They conspired amongst themselves to cheat the investors and developed software in the name of the same company i.e. DJN Commodities for offline trading.
Subsequently, DJN Commodities (offline) was collecting public deposits in the name of online trading with a promise to offer returns at a high rate of interest per month and indulged in money circulation activity.
The accused persons falsely and fraudulently represented before the depositors/investors that the company is doing online trading with their deposit money and the accused persons in pursuance of their criminal conspiracy involved in ingenious scheme of recurring deposits in Jewellery shop to dupe innocent investors/depositors of their hard-earned money.
