ED files second chargesheet in Delhi liquor policy case

New Delhi, Jan 6: The Delhi liquor excise policy case had a second chargesheet issued by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED). Five of the total 12 defendants designated by the central investigation agency have already been apprehended. According to the ED’s chargesheet, seven entities have been named as suspects in the excise policy fraud.

Authorities have already detained the five suspects, Vijay Nair, Sharath Reddy, Binoy Babu, Abhishek Boinpally, and Amit Arora.

The proprietor of Indospirits and liquor seller Sameer Mahendru were both mentioned in the ED’s initial chargesheet. Mahendru is one of the reputed alcohol dealers who participated in anomalies in the formulation and application of the extant excise policy.
