Ranchi, Nov.17: Office of Enforcement Directorate in Ranchi has been well-fortified before the arrival of the Jharkhand Chief Minister to reply to the queries of officers probing the laundering of money earned by illegal mining in Jharkhand.

A short visit to the office suggested that two companies of CRPF have been deployed in the office, which is confiscated property of former Jharkhand minister Enos Ekka at Hinoo beside the road connecting Hinoo Chowk with Birsa Munda Airport.

It is expected that the chief minister will reach the office after addressing a press conference and the UPA MLAs will remain present at his official residence at Kanke Road to express solidarity with him until the CM stays in the ED office. Apart from this, thousands of workers will also remain present in the city during the questioning.

Thus keeping all inputs in mind, police officials have been alerted across the city to keep vigil and ensure that the situation remains peaceful and normal life does not get disturbed in any case.

The ED had summoned CM Soren for the first time on November 1 asking him to appear on November 3. When CM expressed inability and sought three week time for appearance. The ED sent a second notice to the CM on November 9 asking him to ensure his presence on November 17.

As the ED gave a new date for the appearance, the CM expressed his desire to appear a day before November 16 but the ED turned down his request.

A team of three officers including the Joint Director will interrogate the Chief Minister at the ED headquarters.
