Jamshedpur, Nov 17: Sweat it out during the day, and chill by the night. Several parts of the state are expected to witness around two to three-degree fall in night readings during the next 72 hours.
“North-westerly and northerly wind at a lower level of the atmosphere was dominating in Jharkhand. This will result in a further drop in minimum readings by at least three degree Celsius in the next 72- hours, ” said a weather official at IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre.
According to him, the prevailing wind pattern is preventing the formation of clouds and moisture incursion into the atmosphere. “Formation of clouds would have prevented this sudden drop in temperature,” he said, adding that the wide gap between the maximum and minimum temperature was resulting in the “cooling effect”.
Statistics from the meteorological department revealed that today’s minimum temperature in Jamshedpur was two degrees less than normal.
In Daltonganj, Hazaribagh, Bokaro and Dhanbad, the minimum temperature was around four degrees below normal. The daytime temperature was hovering between 26 and 30 degree Celsius.
Though the nights will be cooler, the weathermen promise no rainfall. “We do not see any adverse climatic conditions which might impact Jharkhand’s weather in the next few days,” said a climate analyst.
