Ranchi, June 6: The Enforcement Directorate probe against Mining Secretary Pooja Singhal and her chartered accountant Suman Singh has revealed that Suman Singh used to deal with the district mining officials allegedly on the behalf of his boss.
At least two district mining officials are learnt to have accepted before the ED that Suman Singh had called them and offered plum posting in the district of their choice in exchange for some quid pro quo. These district mining officers claimed that they declined the offer of Suman Singh and never paid him any amount. They also said that Suman Singh had contacted them on his own. The disclosure was made during the forensic examination of the mobile phones of Suman Singh. The ED has procured digital evidence to establish links between Suman Singh and district mining officers. Reliable sources said that at least one mining department officer is suspected to have transferred some cash to him.
However, the ED is verifying the claim made by the district mining officers. The ED during the investigation summoned several district mining department officials namely Bibhuti Kumar (Sahibganj), Krishna Kumar Kisku (Dumka), Pradeep Sah (Pakur), Nadeem Safi (Khunti), Gopal Kumar Das (Chatra), Nishant Abhishek (West Singhbhum), Sunny Kumar (Saraikela-Kharsawan) and Sanjay Sharma of East Singhbhum.
Other than specific materials pertaining to their conduct as the mining officer, one thing common among them is that they were in touch with Suman Singh. It is revealed through the call detail analysis of Suman Singh. Either Suman Singh had called them or they called or it was both ways of communication.
