Dhanbad, June 5: The Enforcement Directorate (ED)  has been conducting simultaneous raids from the early morning of Monday at the residence of two Congress leaders and three other businessmen in different locations of the coal city in connection with the sand racket.

The officials of ED Ranchi have not allowed any person to interact with them in connection with raids as businessmen, whose residences and commercial offices,  are also attached to different trades such as the coal industry, petrol pump and real estate. But sources said that the Ranchi team is conducting raids in connection with the Bihar sand scam.

The ED teams have been seen conducting assessments in the residence and office of Jagnarayan Singh, Punj Singh, TP Singh, Manoj Singh and Surendra Jindal. The teams are conducting raids in the Polytechnic Road-based residence and City Centre-based office of  Jagnarayan Singh, the posh  Chanchani Colony-based residence of Ashok Jindal and the residence of  Surendra Jindal ( brother of Ashok Jindal) in Sindri.

Jaynarayan Singh is the son of senior Congress leader late Naurangdeo Singh while Manoj Singh is a senior leader, though, party officials did not confirm his status in the organization.
