Ranchi, May 12: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today got four days of remand of Chartered Accountant Suman Singh for his questioning from the PMLA court. The court asked the ED to produce him alongwith Pooja Singhal on May 16.
On May 7, the ED had secured his five days remand for questioning which expires today. The ED has requested the court to extend his remand for another five days. Suman is the chartered accountant of IAS Pooja Singhal and cash worth Rs 19.31 crore was recovered from his residence and office.
As the ED arrested Pooja Singhal on Wednesday, on the charge of money laundering it wants to confront Pooja and Suman in their custody.
Since the questions to be asked will be exhaustive Pooja Singhal will be given an assistant for writing the answers to ED’s questions. But she will have to sign on every page.
Her questioning will happen under Section 50 of the PMLA Act which will be an admissible evidence in the court.
The ED has requested the Sadar Hospital to provide a medical team at the ED office everyday for her medical check-up.
