Ranchi, Nov 9: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent a second summon to Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren in the illegal stone mining case and he has been asked to turn up before the Ranchi zonal office of the ED on November 17.
“The second summon has been sent for the day November 17,” highly placed sources in the agency confirmed.
Earlier, the ED had sent him the first notice on November 1. Citing official engagements, Hemant Soren sought three weeks’ time. As per the official release of the Jharkhand government, the CM is engaged in the oficial programmes till November 15. Right after the ED sent him the notice on November 1, the state government also announced a special session of the assembly on November 11.
This is the second such special assembly session the government called. The last one was called on September 5 when it was widely whispered that Governor Ramesh Bais will disqualify him as member of the assembly for possessing a mining lease as a chief minister. That time the assembly had passed the local residence policy and fixed 1932 as the cutoff date.
Meanwhile, the ED questioned builder Vishnu Agrawal regarding his involvement in the Bariatu Indian Army land scam.
