New Delhi, May 27: Farooq Abdullah, the head of the National Conference (NC) and a former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, was summoned by the ED for questioning in a money laundering case in Delhi on May 31, according to official sources.
The interrogation is said to be in conjunction with a government investigation into potential financial irregularities in the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA). The summons was issued under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and requires that the defendant attend at the organization’s headquarters on May 31. In this case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) attached Abdullah’s assets worth Rs 11.86 crore in 2020.
