Mumbai, Feb 24: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned Kaptan Malik, Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik’s brother, in connection with the Dawood Ibrahim money laundering case.

Earlier, Nawab Malik’s sister visited the ED on Thursday.

The decision by the ED comes a day after Nawab Malik was arrested in a money laundering case tied to Mumbai underworld activities. Malik was remanded in the custody of the ED till March 3.

According to sources, the money laundering case involves Nawab Malik’s purported transaction with Dawood Ibrahim’s associates.

The ED was investigating a case registered against Dawood Ibrahim, his brother Anees, Iqbal, aide Chota Shakeel and others. The ED began searching for materials tied to the underworld at numerous locations throughout Mumbai last week.
