Ranchi, Dec 5: Sahibganj DSP Rajendra Dubey was among the officials of Sahibganj district administration who used to receive instructions from Pankaj Mishra over phone while the latter was lodged at RIMS paying ward under judicial custody. Pankaj Mishra is the MLA representative of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
Now, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has decided to issue a summon to Rajendra Dubey for questioning on December 8.
Credible sources aware of the development said that Rajendra Dubey used to receive instructions from Pankaj Mishra over phone. Rajendra Dubey did this since he was aware of the fact that Pankaj Mishra is an accused of the illegal stone mining scam worth Rs 1000 Crore and he is under the judicial custody. “Through Rajendra Dubey accused Pankaj Mishra was managing police cases and they were in regular touch over the phone. He will be questioned shortly,” sources said.
Notably, the ED earlier had told the special PMLA court that Pankaj Mishra during continued stay at RIMS since 27th July, made and received a total of 300 phone calls to various persons including certain highly placed and influential people. In October the ED nabbed his two associates Chandan Yadav and Suraj Pandit for allegedly providing him their mobile phones to Pankaj Mishra and he used to talk to different people. Recently, the ED questioned Chandan Yadav and Suraj Pandit.
The ED further said that Pankaj Mishra is still carrying out his illegal activities through his associates and four such mobile phones were identified and seized for the purpose of investigation.
The ED claimed that Pankaj Mishra in the judicial custody freely accessed mobile phones and he was in frequent contacts with Senior Police officials and other State officials of Jharkhand.
“It is also revealed that Pankaj Mishra is being facilitated towards the access to mobile phones by his associates and the police personnel are providing security at RIMS, Ranchi while in judicial custody. Investigation has further revealed that during his continued stay at RIMS, i.e. since 27.07.2022, a total of about 300 calls have been made/received to various persons including certain highly placed and influential people,” the ED had told the court.
