New Delhi, July 11: The Enforcement Directorate has issued Sonia Gandhi a second summons to appear before it on July 21 in connection with the alleged money laundering case involving the National Herald newspaper.
Sonia Gandhi had previously requested extra time and was granted it. The Congress leader was forced to skip his earlier summons on June 2 after a Covid test result. She had requested extra time to appear before the agency after she was discharged from the hospital in the middle of June.
Rahul Gandhi was subjected to a series of interrogations by the central investigation agency in the same case that lasted 10–12 hours over five days.
Senior Congressmen Mallikarjun Kharge and Pawan Bansal were previously questioned by the agency that looks into financial crimes as part of the investigation.
