Ranchi, July 11: In an effort to establish an extremist-prone hockey academy at Takra in the Khunti district in the name of former Olympian and well-known Jharkhand leader Jaipal Singh Munda, the Sports Coordinator of the Sports Department of Jharkhand, Manohar Topno, met with Hockey Jharkhand Chief, Bholanath Singh, for his cooperation.
It is important to note that Topno is personally overseeing the construction of the academy in Khunti that will bear Jaipal Singh’s name. Jaipal Singh was born in Takra, India. In such a case, efforts are being made to generate more outstanding hockey players from here, in addition to putting Takra back into the spotlight.
A 60-acre plot of land will be used to construct this hockey academy. This has a strategy to train 100 hockey players—100 boys and 100 females. World-class athletes, coaches, and past Olympians can all lend a hand with this.
On this occasion, Topno and other well-known individuals, including Ranchi SAI Coach Jagan Topno, MECON Ranchi’s former hockey coach Alex Lakra, Sumrai Tete, a former Indian women’s hockey team captain who is currently the head coach of the South Eastern Railway Ranchi women’s hockey team, a former Indian women’s hockey team captain who is currently a Ranchi Railway Office Bearer, Asunta Lakra, a former international hockey player named Vishwas Purti, and a former international hockey player named Vishwas Purti,
The delegation asked Singh to acknowledge the Hockey Jharkhand Academy. In response, Singh claimed that Jharkhand had an infinite number of outstanding hockey players and he wholeheartedly supported this plan.
“There were more than 100 hockey players from other countries. The development of the academy by skilled individuals will be more advantageous to Jharkhand’s hockey. Hockey Jharkhand would support the creation of this academy financially, mentally, and physically,” Singh said.
He continued by saying that it is encouraging that so many well-known hockey players are contributing to these causes in addition to their government work.
“You people have put in a lot of effort while playing hockey for the country over the years, and now that you have the chance to live well in a government post, you have stepped forward to donate it to hockey. Thank you, Hockey Jharkhand. Every player should create a modest hockey academy in their local community, even if a large academy is not feasible. We will work closely together to advance Jharkhand hockey. As a result of the establishment of the Jaipal Singh Munda Hockey Academy, Hockey Jharkhand wishes to extend its gratitude to each and every one of you,” Singh said.
