New Delhi, April 9: Eknath Shinde, the CM of Maharashtra, will make his first trip to Ayodhya on Sunday after being sworn into the state’s highest office in June 2022. Shinde is scheduled to be accompanied by thousands of Shiv Sainiks, and sources indicate that nearly all of the hotels, guest homes, and dharamshalas in the temple town have already been reserved for him. Later on today, CM Shinde will be accompanied by Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra.
A day before Eknath Shinde is scheduled to arrive in the Uttar Pradesh temple town, Shiv Sainiks are anticipated there to greet him.
The Maharashtra government’s official programme states that Shinde arrived in Lucknow on Saturday night and spent the night there.
He will arrive on the banks of the Saryu River on Saturday, and alongside Fadnavis he will attend the Maha Aarti at Ram Janma Bhumi and see the new Ayodhya temple’s construction site.
“The Maharashtra chief minister will be arriving in Lucknow on Saturday and will visit Ayodhya on Sunday, where he will offer prayers at the Hanumangarhi temple and the Ram temple. He will also see the ongoing construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple and perform the evening ‘aarti’ on the banks of the Saryu river,” Shinde’s spokesperson Viraj Mulaye told news agency PTI.
“He will also meet seers of Ayodhya and address a press conference,” Mulaye said.
