Daltonganj, June 13: Results of the entrance tests held on May 30 for classes 6 to 11 in the Zila School (Government +2) and for classes 6 to 9 in the KG Girls’ High School (Government +2 Balika school), which are two of the three government schools of excellence in Daltonganj have been scrapped.
There are allegations of favoritism, irregularities and improper application of the reservation roster.
Zila School had the entrance test for a total of 480 seats from classes 6 to 11, while KG Girls’ High School had the test for a total of 240 seats from classes 6 to 9 only.
However, there arose no issue of results for the class 6 entrance test in the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Awasiya Vidyalaya, Chainpur which is also a school of excellence as everything here related to the reservation roster was found in order.
District Education Officer cum District Programme Manager Anil Kumar Choudhary said, “Following instructions from DC Anjaneyulu Dodde, results of the entrance tests of the two govt. schools of excellence have been cancelled”. Choudhary said the results were prepared and declared by the respective headmasters without strict adherence to the reservation roster. There were errors in the maintenance of the reservation roster, reiterated Choudhury.
He said the parents had raised allegations of favoritism and also irregularities in the results of the entrance tests. The DEO further said, “We have set up a scrutiny board for these two government schools of excellence whose entrance tests results were scrapped. The revised results would be declared on June 15,” said the DEO.
