Dhanbad, July 19:  Ragni Singh, a senior BJP leader and wife of ex-Jharia MLA Sanjiv Singh, today wrote a letter to Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Health Arun Kumar Singh for treatment of her ailing husband at any super specialty hospital of Dhanbad.

Two times former Jharia MLA Sanjiv Singh is under treatment at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad and the medical board has recommended his treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) Ranchi.

Sanjiv Singh, who has been in judicial custody since April 2017 in connection with former Deputy Mayor Neeraj Singh’s (his cousin) murder case, fell ill in Dhanbad jail on July 7 and was admitted to  SNMMCH in a critical condition.

Ragni Singh, in her letter to the ACS Health, has said that there is a danger to the life of Sanjiv Singh at RIMS.  “There is an apprehension of an attack on him at RIMS. So, he should be allowed treatment at any super speciality hospital in Dhanbad.” She also offered to bear all the treatment costs of her husband.

Ragni Singh is a BJP state executive committee member and had contested from the Jharia assembly constituency in place of her husband in the 2019 assembly election.

Doctors attending Sanjiv Singh at SNMMCH said the former MLA is neither recognizing people nor taking his diet properly after falling in jail.
