Earlier today Patel tweeted, “I will work as a small soldier in the noble service of the nation under the successful leadership of PM Narendra bhai Modi.”

Patel, who left the Congress two weeks ago, projected a one-sided Gujarat poll last week, predicting that the BJP would win a seventh term in power.

Patel also warned that his old party, which had already lost Punjab to Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party, was in danger of losing further ground to the Aam Aadmi Party.
