Ex-Jharkhand minister acquitted in NTPC land acquisition violence case

Ranchi, July 12: After eight years of trial in the matter of violence during land acquisition for Amrapali coal project in Tandwa, Ranchi Civil court acquitted all the 23 accused, including a former minister Yogendra Sao.

The order came from the court of additional judicial commissioner Vishal Shrivastava after the prosecution failed to prove the crime beyond reasonable doubts.

The case was registered at Tandwa police station in 2015.

Other than Sao, others acquitted include Ashutosh Mishra, Badri Saav, Mukesh Yadav, Vinod Bihari Paswan, Lal Kisun Yadav, Rajendra Sahu, Vinod Yadav and others.
