New Delhi, Jan 22: HD Deve Gowda, the former Prime Minister of India and head of the Janata Dal (Secular), has tested positive for Covid-19, according to his office.
According to the statement, HD Deve Gowda (88) is asymptomatic and in good condition.
The seasoned politician served as India’s twelfth Prime Minister from June 1996 to April 1997. From 1994 to 1996, he served as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.
Deve Gowda is now a member of the Rajya Sabha, representing the Karnataka constituency of Hassan. He is also the President of JD on a national level (S).
