Ranchi, Dec.30: Former union minister Subodh Kant Sahai along with Khijri MLA Rajesh Kachhap while condemning the union government in front of Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) headquarters for its failure in running the ‘mother of industries’ also pointed out loopholes in the stand of the state government in the matter.
“The State government should have taken over the industry in the same way the government in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh has done after the failure of union government but the same has not been done so far and its role as state government for saving the industries has not remained good,” Sahai said.
He later gave a call to the workers, who continued their strike on the 28th day for their demand of eight-month payment, to strike dishes at their residences tomorrow at 7pm and draw the attention of authorities towards their problem.
Sahai expressed his concern for the delay in the wage payment of workers. HEC worker union’s leader Rana Sangram Singh was also present in the programme.
Sahai was staging a demonstration a day after the HEC management made an appeal to workers to end the strike saying the union government has no plan to close the unit and their work is important to keep the industry running.
