Ranchi, Jan 15: The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has released the results of the examination of the Deputy Collector after over 17 years of the examination. Out of a total of 50 posts, 25 candidates have been selected in the unreserved category. Among these, one candidate Deepak Kumar Mishra has been included in the PH quota.

Meanwhile, 13 candidates have been selected in the ST category, 5 in the SC category, 4 in BC I and 3 in BC II. According to the released results, Rajesh Kumar in the unreserved category, Ravindran Oraon in the ST category, Kamlesh Kumar Das in the SC category, Mo Hussain in BC I and Laxman Yadav in BC II have been declared toppers.

Notably, the advertisement for the examination was taken out in the year 2005, while the examination was held on April 23, 2006. Under this, a total of 50 Deputy Collectors were to be appointed.

Notably, the employees and teachers working under the Jharkhand government were eligible to apply for this examination for promotions. Over eight thousand government employees had applied for the opportunity of promotions.

The examination held in April of 2006 was held at around 14 centres in Ranchi. Soon after issues were raised in the exams. A case was also filed in the High Court. After the Court, the issue was sent to the then-state Governor Syed Sibtey Razi, who then ordered a probe into the matter.

Later, on instructions from the then Governor Syed Sibtey Razi, the examination was cancelled six years after being held on June 12, 2013. He then instructed that the examination be held once again.

As a result of the Governor’s orders, the JPSC announced the examinations once again on April 29, 2017; however, the exam was later cancelled at the last moment. After this, the matter was once again buried for three years, till January 3, 2020, when the JPSC conducted the examination once again.

The answer sheet for the paper in January 2020 was released on January 10. Later, it was observed that there were irregularities in both questions and answers that were released. The candidates filed complaints for the same, as a result of which,  the JPSC once again released the revised model answer sheet on December 24, 2020. However, the JPSC did not release the results for the exam for over one and a half years.

As a result of this, the matter was once again taken to the High Court. After a hearing over this on April 27, 2022, the Jharkhand High Court sought a detailed report from the commission on the examination. The questions were also raised in the state assembly, after which the results were finally released on Saturday.
