Hazaribag, Nov 29: Subhashis Das, the pioneer of megalith exploration, research and writing in Jharkhand has come up with a website https://www.
It is the only website of its kind on the megaliths of Jharkhand. Although Das did run a website earlier on megaliths of India but it was discontinued.
About the website which is new and still being designed, Das said it contains videos on several megalithic sites of Jharkhand as those of Birbir, Chokahatu, Jabra Road and many more. It also contains pages on several megalithic sites of both which he has discovered and also of others.
Over two decades ago, Subhashis Das quit his job had taken on discovering and studying the lesser megalithic sites of the state. He has also discovered astronomy elements hidden in several megalithic sites of the state and has resurrected the custom of equinox viewing in sites such as Pakri Burwadih.
Das has also authored numerous papers and has even authored about six books on his discoveries and research on megaliths, the first of their types in Jharkhand.
He also visits various places in abroad including countries like Spain and Japan to give speeches on his discoveries and research on the megaliths of Jharkhand. His research and discoveries have been incorporated in the syllabus of the Jharkhand Education dept’s history books.
“I have started this website to popularise megaliths of Jharkhand,” said Das.
