Dhanbad, Aug 3:  Police on Tuesday lodged an FIR against 13 persons, including BJP Baghmara MLA Dhulu Mahto for demanding extortion from a construction company.
Barora police station officer-in-charge Neeraj Kumar said that on a written complaint of Modern Enterprises Company manager Reyaz Kureshi an FIR under IPC Sections 341/ 387/ 504/  506  has been lodged against Dhulu Mahto and 12 other persons.
Three persons -MLA Dhulu Mahto, Rameshwar Mahto, and Anand- have been made named accused and  10 others are unidentified persons.             ,
As per the written complaint of the construction company, the BJP MLA along with his supporters were demanding extortion for the railway track to be laid between Sonardih to Shatabdi Coal project of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) for transporting of coal.
Having seen a protest from the local MLA, the private construction company had a few days ago lodged a written complaint to the deputy commissioner (DC) and senior superintendent of police (SSP) against the MLA. Finally, on Tuesday, the police lodged the FIR.
The MLA despite repeated attempts did not receive call to comment on the FIR.
Sources said since the rail track is blocking the main road of  Chitahi (Barora) Rajaram Temple of Dhulu Mahto, the MLA   was protesting the project. Last month he along with supporters sat on a dharna at the construction site and stopped the work.
The Baghmara MLA is facing over a dozen criminal cases, including sexual exploitation lodged against him after the change of the state government.
The Barora police station officer-in-charge said that on basis of the FIR police are probing the matter.
