Daltonganj, Jan 20: A situation of factionalism came to fore during the press conference of the AJSU unit in Daltonganj today.
A handful of AJSU leaders walked away from the venue objecting to the presence of their own senior leader Bablu Gupta who holds the post of central secretary in the state unit of AJSU.
Gupta said he holds his primary membership and is the central secretary and has no idea as to how and why a few party men left the venue of the press conference.
The general secretary of the AJSU N K Tiwary did try hard to keep the flock together but in vain.
Sources said the general secretary Tiwary showed patience and understanding to keep the AJSU show going but it did not click.
Tiwary wanted to bridge the gap but the disgruntled ones just paid no heed to his pleas.
The general secretary said AJSU will soon be presenting a united house here unlike what took place today.
The general secretary looked concerned about the developments that took him and others all by surprise.
The inordinate delay of some more members of AJSU in arriving at the venue of the press conference further hampered the commencement of the press conference in the circuit house Daltonganj.
Newsmen began to move out from the press conference. It is not known if the press conference was held today as newsmen waited for 50 minutes before pushing off for the press conference of the BJP MP V D Ram slated at 2 in the afternoon.
