MANOJ SINHA
Ramgarh, Dec.20: Suffocation claimed the lives of three members of a family who were sleeping in the house while a bonfire was burning. Another individual’s health is said to be critical. The incident occurred in Hazaribagh district’s Romi village, Pelawal OP police station area. The village is in grief following the incident.
The deceased have been identified as Rinku Khan alias Shahid Anwar (40), wife Nikhat Parveer (35) and their son Ahmed Akhtar age (5). Nikhat’s brother Mumtaz (36), a resident of Dhanbad, is in critical condition.
On receiving the information, the police reached and took all the bodies into their possession and sent them for postmortem.
Notably, Rinku had constructed a new home whose opening was scheduled for Monday. All the relatives had also arrived for the ceremony. The family slept with the stove and heater on Sunday night to avoid the cold. The smoke from the stove gradually permeated the entire home. The people (Rinku, his wife and son) sleeping in the room were completely unaware of it. The smoke couldn’t get out of the room since there was nowhere for it to go. As a result, the room gradually became a gas chamber.
On Monday morning, when the house door did not open, the neighbours became worried. They broke the door when the gate did not open and they did not receive any response from Rinku from inside. When the door broke, the people found Rinku along with his family lying there.
