Muzaffarpur, Dec 27: An FIR has been filed against seven people, including the owner of the noodle factory where the boiler blast occurred on Sunday in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.
The FIR named factory owner Vikas Modi and six others in Bela police station. Vikas Modi’s wife Shweta Modi, manager Uday Shankar, supervisor boiler, operator, and a technician are among those made accused in the case.
The case is being investigated by a Bihar police team led by Muzaffarpur city DSP. Earlier, Bihar minister Ramsurat Rai promised that a high-level investigation would be conducted and that those found guilty would face consequences.
On Sunday, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced in a tweet that Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of those killed in the explosion.
“The injured would each receive Rs 50,000,” the PMO said.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also announces ex-gratia amount of Rs 4 lakhs each to the families of the deceased in the boiler blast incident.
Seven laborer’s were killed and many others were seriously injured after boilers at a noodle-making factory in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district exploded on Sunday.
